New Audi A4

Picked up our new car yesterday, an Audi A4 1.8T S-Line saloon, in what they call metallic quartz grey. Looks pretty smart methinks. I actually never thought I'd ever buy and drive a saloon, a hatchback being my idea of a good balance between sporty looks (yeah, I'm crazy) and practicality. I guess the 3-door Audi A3 I had was a tad impractical for ferrying Alex Kidd to and fro, so this was our next choice.

Surprisingly, I find driving it so far quite similar to the A3. The suspension is certainly less rough on the posterior, this being a non-sport setup compared to the A3, and the ride is noticeably smoother on our local (read: rubbish) roads. The dash ain't quite as nice and "moderny" as before, but it's certainly quite smart looking, especially at night when all the little LEDs are on for the main centre console, and the little colour LCD screen in between the speedo and tacho is very nice too.

A good buy, I reckon, despite the big difference in price. I don't have to drive Lucy's BMW 116i everywhere now, as I finally have a car that I can get Alex into without risking a sprained neck and back in the process! :D
